Baker West Neighborhood Association is one of only 20 San Jose neighborhood associations selected to participate in the pilot program Together SJ.
Together SJ Goals:
- Increase resident participation in neighborhood associations
- Improve communication between neighbors and city hall
- Provide informational and fun activities for neighbors to connect with one another
- Increase the quality of life in neighborhoods
- Help decrease loneliness within SJ by bringing neighbors together
Together SJ Strategies:
- Host educational and fun events
- Hold neighborhood meetings
- Create a website and social media presence
- Survey neighborhoods to measure progress
Preliminary Neighborhood Survey
Together SJ will evaluate the program success by surveying neighbors at the beginning and the end of the program. The Together SJ will also use interviews, real-life experiences, and focus groups to understand how the program impacted the neighborhood quality of life.
