October 2024 update:
The Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for this planned Costco at Westgate West published on September 13, 2024. Last week, on September 25, the Planning Commission took up initial public consideration of the project’s conditional use permit. Thank you to the many members of the public who came to the meeting to voice their thoughts and input. Your feedback makes a difference. The project applicant announced a number of voluntary contributions and changes they are willing to make at the Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission ultimately voted unanimously to recommend approval of the project’s conditional use permit to the City Council.
Talks regarding community concerns continue to occur between City representatives and Costco. The next and likely last stop for a final decision on this project application is the October 22, 2024, City Council meeting. More project-related documents will publish closer to the time that the agenda for that meeting is finalized.
