Amy Cody, President of the Moreland West Neighborhood Association send out the following information to her neighborhood regarding crime in the area.
Hi, Neighbors!
I try to keep an eye on incidents reported on crimemapping.com and have noticed the recent rash of burglaries in Baker West and Westgate Village. Here’s a snapshot from the past two months.Amy
She also invited anyone from the BWNA to join their upcoming meeting where a police officer will be there to speak about crime issues.
Not sure what’s going on, but you might encourage your neighbors to be extra vigilant. Please know that Baker West residents are welcome to join us on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6:30-8 p.m. for the MWNA meeting. (It’s our annual meeting. We’ll be celebrating our 5th year with cake. We plan to have police officers there and to review crime incidents over the past couple of months. (A vehicle theft and several “Sex Crimes”, which seems concerning. Cpt Torres has said they are isolated, school-related incidents.) I’ll mention the burglaries, too.
We’re not planning a big outside presentation, but will discuss El Paseo, Costco, the Urban Village planning process (recently pushed back to Dec. 9) and MWNA plans for 2025.
The meeting will be held in-person at the Moreland Community Center, located at 1850 Fallbrook Ave. A Zoom link will be provided before the meeting for those that cannot attend in person.
Thank you for sharing!
