Our clothing drive is underway just in time, as the cold weather has arrived. Again, we are supporting the Downtown Streets Team (DTS), a nonprofit organization committed to helping individuals with a path out of homelessness. They receive access to case management, system navigation, and employment services while engaging in community beautification and clean-up projects.
The requests this year are for gloves, beanies, clean warm jackets, coats, sweat pants, sweat shirts, vests and sweaters. They do not have to be new. Also, if you have leftover Halloween candy, it can also be donated to Downtown Streets Team. It will be sorted and used for the Holiday gift baggies for Team members. The candy can be placed in the green and red bin.
For years Baker West has always been a generous neighborhood. Let’s help those who are trying to help
themselves. Please think about making a donation to this worthy cause. I will have a green and red bin on my front porch (2041 Elmgrove Lane) for donations. If you are unable to bring your donations, I will be happy to pick them up. Just call me at 408 379-9773. Thank you, Charleen Marfil (char@bakerwest.org)
