I’m Julie Meridian, a practicing artist and UX designer here in San José. For this utility box pair, I’ve painted a mural of “Paintbrushes and Goldfields”. The wildflowers are Indian Paintbrush (red) and California Goldfields (yellow) which can be found in the nearby Santa Cruz mountains. For these murals, I seek to evoke the stained glass works of Louis Comfort Tiffany while capturing the beauty of our local environment.
